Come and join us on Mothers Day when in addition to the standard accommodation available, we will be serving refreshments in the Great Eastern Railway Royal Saloon, built in 1898. The carriage was specifically built for Princess Alexandra, wife of the future King Edward VII.
In the morning we will be serving coffee and cake. In the afternoon we will be serving Alison’s Afternoon Tea (sandwiches, scones and cakes) with or without a glass of prosecco.
Princess Alexandra’s Royal Saloon
General admission tickets (£15.00 for Adults, £10.00 for children) include entrance to our wonderful museum and all day travel on other trains. We also have a gift shop and a tea room serving drinks and light refreshments. There is a supplement for travelling on the Royal Saloon in addition to general admission tickets. The supplement is £5.00 for Adults and £2.50 for Children.
Trains are scheduled depart from Preston Riverside Station every hour from 11am to 4pm.
NOTE: As Mothers Day coincides with our Spring Steam Gala weekend there will be lots of engines in steam and plenty of other things to see and do.

Join us for one return trip on the Ribble Steam Railway whilst enjoying coffee and cake.

1pm and 3pm Train Alison’s Afternoon Tea
Afternoon Tea in the Royal Saloon
Join us for two return trips on the Ribble Steam Railway whilst enjoying a traditional Afternoon Tea consisting of sandwiches, cup cakes and cream scones, complete with a glass of Prosecco for the adults on arrival.
Additional charge £20.00 for Adults including the glass of prosecco (non-alcoholic option also available) and £20.00 for Children. The Afternoon Tea is not suitable for children under 8 years old.

Space is limited to 14 guests per train so early booking is advisable.
Unfortunately due its age and method of construction, we are sorry but the Royal Saloon is not accessible to wheelchair users. Due to limitations within the Royal Saloon kitchen we regret we are unable to cater for special dietary needs.
