SUMMARY:Spring Steam Gala
DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for our 2026 Spring Steam Gala.\nVisit our fabulous museum then take a trip on one of the many steam trains running each day. Our Tea Room will also be open for drinks and light refreshments. \nA varied timetable will be in operation throughout the day\, which should feature our home fleet. \nThere’s even a new Fish & Chip Service to complete the day (see below)  \nThe event will hopefully see the return of Hunslet 3155 “Walkden” return to service for the first time in a number of years \nLocomotives expected to be in service : \nFurness Railway No.20\nBorrows No.48 “The King”\nBarclay 1969 “JN Derbyshire”\nPeckett 1935 “Hornet”\nHunslet 3155 “Walkden”\nTimetable \n \nBrake Van Rides Return for 2026\nWe will once again be operating short brake van rides aboard our Southern Region “Queen Mary” brake van from Platform 0 at Preston Riverside. \nFor a small supplement\, you can ride behind a variety of locomotive combinations whilst they’re not operating the main full-line service. \nSpaces on each shuttle will be limited\, and include the opportunity to take in rarely accessed track at RSR\, as the short journey takes you Westward from the station\, towards the Preston Council Locomotive Shed\, built as part of the Railway’s redevelopment in the 1980s. \n \nAll advertised locomotives are subject to availability  \nTickets are all-day rover tickets. \nBrake Van Rides from Platform 0 during the March 2025 Gala – Gary Severn\nFurness Railway Trust will be opening their workshop for the day & offering rare tours of the facility\, where you can see first hand progress on their large restoration projects of 4979 Wooton Hall\, GWR 5643\, Hunslet 3794 “Cumbria” and Peckett 1925 “Caliban”.  They will also be running a book stall to raise funds for the Trust. \nSome recently published footage from our Spring Gala in 2025\n\n\n	\n		Adult\n		\n			\n				\n					\n						£15\n					\n					All Day Rover\n				\n			\n\n			\n				\nOther ticket types available \n\nConcession – £12.50\nChild – £10.00\nFamily (2a+2c)- £35.00\n\nTickets can be bought online via the link below – or you can pay on the day.			\n			\n								Buy Online			\n		\n	\n\n		\n							\n						\n				\nFish & Chip Dining Service			\n			\n					\n	\n\n\n			\n				For our Spring Steam Gala – we’re operating a special “Fish & Chip” Service with the 1700 departure.  Limited seats are available for this – and purchasing this ticket includes your main entry admission for all other standard services on the day – So arrive early & take in sights & sounds. \nFish & Chips will be served at your reserved seat\, and the buffet car will be open for the sale of alcoholic & soft drinks too!\n	\nSome recently published footage from our Spring Gala in 2025
