1 2 3 Steps to Visiting 2020

Thank you for your patience. We can now tell you what you have wanted to hear, “We’re Good To Go!“. Guided by Visit Britain’s  UK’s industry standard for attractions. We’ve carefully adapted our operations in line with Government, Public Health, and Heritage Railway guidelines to get you back home to our fabulous railway and museum.

You will notice we have changed a few things here at Ribble, keeping life safe and simple with:

1 2 3 Steps to Remember

Relax, have fun and enjoy your experience:

1 – Before Visiting

  • Tickets: You must pre-book your ticket in advance on our website see notes below on train seating* and group sizes.
  • NHS Covid-19 App: we would encourage you to download the App before your visit, and scan our QR code when you arrive.
  • Arriving on Time: Make sure you know where we are,  and arrive on time to fully relax and enjoy your Ribble Experience.

2 – During Visiting

  • Face masks: As in everyday life, face coverings** are now compulsory for all our visitors, inside our venue and during your train journey. We appreciate you may be exempt from wearing a mask: our canine friends like Rascal the dog are, and still welcomed (please ask us for a free Ms Wellness sticker).
  • Your Temperature: You will be checked upon arrival. Should you exhibit a high temperature, sadly both you and your social bubble will not be permitted to enter our venue.

  • Track-and-trace System: We will retain your contact details for 21 days as part of your digital booking.
  • New Directional Signs: Look out for our new one-way system around our museum, shop and platform.
  • Social Distancing: New measures are in place, so mind the gap!  Family and Friends groups are requested not to mingle outside of their social bubble.
  • Hand Sanitisation: Will available throughout our venue for you use.
  • Extra Cleaning and Hygiene Regimes: Are in place, between every train journey, in our museum, shop, cafe and toilets.
  • Refreshments: Light refreshments (cold drinks and snacks) will be available in our Gift Shop and we encourage you to use contactless payment where possible. If you bring your own food, please respectfully take your rubbish home with you.
  • Toilets: Available next to our Gift Shop, will have limited number access. Remember toilets have never been, and are still not available on board our heritage trains.
  • **Face coverings are available to buy in our shop, should you leave yours at home.
  • *Train Seating and Your Group :When booking, you will be able to select your seat. If you are in a bubble that is larger than 4, please book a compartment. We have seats blocked off to maintain ‘1-metre plus’ social distancing guidance. Our Station Master and Platform Stewards will be able to assist you in finding your seat.

3 – Community Responsibility

Remember to follow Government Guidelines “Hands, Face, Space” let’s keep everyone safe.

Thank you for your support by following these measures and helping us keep Ribble Steam Railway and Museum a safe environment for everyone. We look forward to welcoming you back.
