The locomotive was bought new by the British Oil Cake Mills or BOCM at their Hull factory which was located next to the River Hull. After the closure of the factory in the early 1970s, it moved to their factory “Olympia Mills” at Selby where it worked for the rest of its working life.
The locomotive was believed to have been made redundant before the closure of the plant, and for a short time was displayed outside the factory on public display. It was subsequently donated to the Yorkshire Dales Railway (Later to become Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway), where it was moved for preservation
Some initial attempts were made at restoring the locomotive to running order, however a change of ownership saw a renewed attempt at a full overhaul of the locomotive.
The locomotive arrived from the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway in October 2023. Efforts are underway to bring the locomotive back into Operational Service
